There are different available systems for parts handling for Pietro Carnaghi machines, depending on customer specific needs. All systems are designed to maximize system rigidity, ensuring a unique repeatability.

ROTATING PALLET (ATF TYPE): the most compact solution.

Two pallets rotate from 0° to 180° on a movable base. Available for pallets with a diameter up to 2000 mm. This solution is perfect for pallet and table with high rotation rates.

ROTARY-TRANSLATING PALLET:

the basic version handles two pallets, with the number of pallets being increased as needed.
The system consists of the following elements:

• RSU: pallet rotating transfer system between the various stations
• RPS: rotational parking station – rotating station for loading, unloading, and centering workpieces

The station is equipped with the same sub-base as the vertical lathe to ensure extreme pallet repeatability.

• SPS: parking stations

PALLET CHANGER FOR LARGE SIZES:

Linear axis system on hydrostatic sliding. This solution combines the possibility to alternate two working tables and to use of a Y-axis for off-axis milling operations. This solution is ideal for pallets longer than 4 meters.

FLEXIBLE PRODUCTION SYSTEM (FMS):

Parts handling system with a loading/unloading shuttle traveling on rails, suitable for serving two or more machines.
The system is completed by several elements, including:

• One or more external RPS rotary stations for loading, unloading, and centering workpieces with the same lathe sub-base to ensure extreme repeatability.
• SPS parking station(s)
• CELL-X cell controller developed entirely by Pietro Carnaghi’s software automation department for production management.
• Shuttle for workpiece handling with one or two pallet loading systems.
• Machines from third-party manufacturers can be integrated into Pietro Carnaghi FMS system to ensure maximum flexibility of the production solution.
