AP Series Double-column (mm 7000 - mm 14000)
These machines feature a two-columns structure for large-scale machining, with workpieces up to 14 meters in diameter. The frame consists of a base containing the spindle and the mechanical gearbox or direct drive for table rotation, and the columns, with guides for the sliding of the movable crossrail. The crossrail is designed with a shape and size that are more than adequate to withstand the most severe working conditions. The structures are designed using finite element analysis (FEM) and are subjected to stress-relieving thermal stabilization cycles. The linear axes are supported by hydrostatic pockets. For large load capacities (over 200 tons), the table bearing can also be hydrostatic, with a maximum load of up to 750 tons.
